Commitment to Sustainability


Since Hotel Club del Mar was founded, we have worked to preserve and nurture the last green corridor in Jaco that connects the rainforest mountain behind us to the beach in front. The design and construction of our hotel, condomininums and pool avoided the cutting of the trees that graced our site.

Our commitment to sustain our magnificent Costa Rican environment includes:

  • Irrigating our lush tropical gardens with recycled water
  • Using only biodegradable and eco-friendly chemicals in our operations
  • Recycling our waste paper, plastics, glass and kitchen oil
  • Filling our gardens with plants that attract and sustain the bird and animal life of our area
  • Maintaining our pool with effective chlorine-free chemicals
  • Taking a leadership role in local organizations addressing environmental issues
  • Participating in Costa Rica's Bandera Azul Ecológica (ecological blue flag) program that recognizes excellence in environmental water quality
